A Sermon for Every Sunday. Michael Curry, Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church, was one of the first preachers to record sermons for ASFES. He was still Bishop of North Carolina in those days, but was excited about this new project and its potential to help small churches that did not have or could not afford a regular preacher. Usually the sermon could easily have been abbreviated by the length it would have taken for the ommitted reading(s); increasingly I find more nourishment in scripture than in preaching. This, of course, is the principle behind Cranmer’s aim to cover the whole of scripture each year in the Daily Office lectionary. 2. Psalms for the Introit are also appointed.
